Bed Corp.

A Johannesburg mattress manufacturer that has been building beds since 2006 and sells them factory-direct, with no retailer in the middle. The store had to carry that price advantage without looking cheap, and get a buyer from “I need a bed” to a size and a delivery date in as few steps as possible.

The brief

Bed Corp manufactures in Langlaagte and sells straight to the public, which means the pitch is price and provenance rather than brand. But mattresses are a considered purchase people make rarely and badly: they do not know their size, they do not know what a pocket spring is, and they want it this week. The store had to answer all three before it asked for the sale.

The build

A Shopify storefront organised by the way people actually shop for a bed: size first, then range. The size guide sits inline with real centimetre widths rather than behind a link, the factory-direct guarantee and warranty run as a permanent band under the hero, and a WhatsApp line puts a human one tap away for anyone still unsure. Gauteng delivery is stated up front, not discovered at checkout.

Scope of work

  • S-01STORE DESIGN

Shop-by-size before shop-by-brand, because that is the first decision a buyer can actually make.

  • S-02SHOPIFY DEVELOPMENT

Custom theme work over a clean Shopify base — catalogue, variants, cart and checkout.

  • S-03CONVERSION

Guarantee, warranty and delivery promises surfaced above the fold instead of buried in a policy page.

  • S-04SEO

Built for the searches that convert: bed sizes, mattress types, and factory-direct in Johannesburg.

The details that mattered

  • Size is the real first question. Single through King, each with its actual width in centimetres. Most bed sites make you already know the answer; this one just tells you.
  • The factory is the differentiator. “Manufacturer prices, no middleman” sits in a fixed band with the guarantee and warranty, so the reason to buy here is never more than a glance away.
  • A human on WhatsApp. For a purchase this infrequent, people want to ask someone. The number is in the flow, not hidden on a contact page.
  • Delivery stated early. Gauteng coverage and collection are named on the homepage. Nothing kills a cart like discovering the delivery position at the last step.

Quick answers

What did the Bed Corp build involve?

Design and development of a Shopify storefront for a factory-direct bed manufacturer: shop-by-size navigation with real dimensions, a full catalogue across five mattress ranges, cart and checkout, WhatsApp support in the buying flow, and SEO for bed-size and mattress-type searches.

Do you build Shopify stores?

Yes — Bed Corp and Omura are Shopify builds in the registry, and Cape To Cope is WooCommerce. We will tell you honestly which of the two suits your catalogue, margins and admin capacity before you commit to either.
